Meetings

Town Council Meetings are held every three weeks in the Council Chamber at the rear of Penmaenmawr Community Centre, Conwy Road, Penmaenmawr, Conwy, LL34 6AB. The meetings begin at 6.30pm

Some aspects of Council business are delegated to specialist committees. Planning and Finance Committees meet at regular intervals, details of which are published outside the Council Offices and on this website. The HR committee meets on an ‘as required’ basis and again, details are similarly published in advance.

Agendas for all meetings are made available on this website, at the Library in Penmaenmawr and at the Town Council Offices. They have to be displayed in at least one public location three days before a meeting.

The Town Clerk produces formal Minutes of our meetings soon after they are held – the Minutes are circulated to Councillors who are then called upon to approve them at the next meeting.

Once the Minutes have been approved by Council, members of the public are welcome to email the clerk to obtain an electronic or paper copy. No minutes will be released until they have been finally approved by the Council and signed by the Mayor.

The minutes of all meetings are displayed in the Town Council Office and on this web site. Please click on the links below to access the published latest minutes and agenda.

All meetings will start at 6.30pm unless otherwise stated. Changes may be made at the discretion of the Mayor. You will be notified of any changes in advance of meeting dates

Members of the public are welcome to attend Town Council Meetings.

One member of the public is permitted to speak or ask a question on an agenda items if they so wish. This number is restricted by national guidelines primarily due to time constraints, although the Council does where possible use its discretion.

Public Participation – This is period near the beginning of every full Council meeting, of up to 15 minutes, where members of the public to address the Council directly. Topics on the agenda - A member of the public may speak to Council regarding any item on that meeting’s agenda without supplying prior notice. On any topic – A member of the public may request to speak directly to the Council on any topic by providing 4 days’ notice (excluding a Sunday, Bank Holidays and the day of the meeting) in writing to the Clerk.
