The Council is delighted to announce that it has awarded a grant of £500 to the Happy Eaters group.
The Remembrance Tree Service was held on the 4th December and despite terrible weather was well attended. The event raised almost £400.00 for charity.
The Council has awarded a grant of £75 to Dawns I Bawb.
The Council has secured funding to prepare a Community Plan. Public Engagement events and surveys will be held through 2022 to obtain residents input.
The Council is pleased to announce that it has donated £75 to Hope House.
The Council will be sharing Mulled Wine and Mince Pies with the residents and shoppers under the veranda in Pant yr Afon on the 18th of December.

Our Environmental Warden has been busy again spraying nudges in Penmaenmawr, the purpose of these nudges are try to lower the cases of dog fouling in our community. Our Warden is working his way around Penmaenmawr and more nudges will be out soon.

The Council is pleased to confirm that it’s remembrance tree event will be running again this year, forms are available at the post office and the council office.
The council are pleased to be able to support D.E.G by giving a grant of £500.00.
The Remembrance Sunday parade can occur this year. Events are being held at Penmaenmawr and Dwygyfylchi memorial.

World Polio Day is celebrated on 24 October annually to raise awareness about Polio and efforts for eradication. World Polio Day highlights the importance of polio vaccination and measures to eradicate it.
The Rotary Club of Llanfairfechan and Penmaenmawr have raised over £96 today outside Spar Penmaenmawr.

The Council is pleased to announce that it has awarded a grant to Penmaenmawr Fell Race to assist with transportation.
The Town Council has supported a local resident, who is running the Conwy half-marathon in aid of Child Bereavement UK, by granting a match funding grant of £500.

The Council is pleased to announce that the Garden Competition has now been completed and the winners from each Ward will be invited to a presentation in the coming weeks.

The Town Council is delighted to welcome Councillor Leanne Hart to the Council. Cllr Hart will represent Capelulo Ward.
The Council is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Civic Pride Warden for the western area. Erin, who has previously volunteered with the Library bus pass renewal scheme, the vaccination programme in the Library, the Penmaenmawr Community Centre and has assisted in organizing events, has been appointed to replace Anita, who recently moved to pastures new.
The Town Council are about to launch a Lifetime Achievement Award for someone who had made an outstanding contribution to our community over many years. Anyone wishing to nominate a candidate, please email the town clerk at [email protected].

The Town Council was delighted to again welcome Aberconwy MP, Mr Robin Millar to its meeting of the 8th June 2021. The MP discussed the impact of the pandemic locally and Government initiatives to assist economic resilience.
The Town Council are delighted to announce that they have awarded Pals of Pen Prom a grant of £150.
The promenade upgrade project is progressing well.
The Town Council is pleased to announce that it has awarded Y Pentan a grant of £150.
The Council have launched a Garden competition. Councillors will be walking around and nominating the best-kept gardens, which will be forwarded to the Mayor for final adjudication.
The Town Council has, under a Transport for Wales ‘Adopt a Station’ scheme, adopted Penmaenmawr Station. As such the station will be monitored much more closely and issues reported.

The vaccination clinics

The vaccination clinics, held recently at the Penmaenmawr Community Library, administered a total of just under 3000 injections. On behalf of the community, the Town Council would like to sincerely thank everyone involved in this exceptional effort, including the Library Community Support Group, the Plas Menai Health Centre and the Community Volunteers, who worked tirelessly throughout. This great success of this project is credit to you all

The Town Council is pleased to announce the reinstatement of the community skips with the following initial schedule: Thursday 13th May in Dwygyfylchi, Wednesday 9th June in Station Road, Penmaenmawr, Wednesday 7th July in Dwygyfylchi. Saturday skips will be resumed as soon as the service is available.
Work is well underway to give the promenade a face lift. Repairs to the wooden exterior of the beach café and the chalets has been completed and re-painting work has commenced. The rendering of much of the breezeblock walls will commence shortly.
The Town Council is happy to continue to support both Ty Gobaith/Hope House Children’s Hospice and Tenovus Cancer Care with £75 grants.
The Council is delighted to announce that Cllr. Kathryn Beard will continue as Mayor of Penmaenmawr for the Municipal year 2021 - 2022 and Cllr. Christopher Williams will continue as Deputy Mayor for the same year. Both Councillors will be formally invested at the Annual Meeting on the 25th May.

The Town Council would like to formally thank Anita Jones-Warwick for her enthusiasm and dedication as one of our Civic Pride Wardens over the last four years and wish her every success in her future endeavours.
The Town Council will, over the coming days, be distributing tote bags to local shops to promote the ‘Stay Safe, Shop Local’ message.
The Town Council have approved a proposal to install lights along the footpath adjacent to the MUGA, from Conwy Road to Kelly Kopec Park.
On the 14th of April the Mayor, Councillor Kathryn Beard, opened the new St David’s Hospice shop on Bangor Road, in a socially distanced event.

The Penmaenmawr Town Council is delighted to announce that work on the first phase of the Promenade upgrade project will commence on the week beginning the 12th of April. This phase, in keeping with the Welsh Government grant, will see an improvement in the aesthetic look of the central concourse and buildings.
The Town Council is delighted to announce that it has awarded a grant of £2,000 to the Pen Food Bank.
The Town Council is pleased to announce that it has awarded Pen Phoenix a grant of £5,800 to assist with the improvement of the security and look of the vicinity around the football fields.
The Town Council, using a grant from the Welsh Government, has ordered additional banners and signs to encourage local shopping and social distancing.
In keeping with the national programme of friendship to Wales from the Japanese Government, led by Mark Drakeford, Penmaenmawr Town Council will be planting five Japanese Cherry Trees in the area over the coming week.
Temporary Library Closure 19- 25 March 2021

Penmaenmawr Town Council is an active council of thirteen councillors, which is evolving with an ever-changing role within the community council sector. The Council’s mission is to enhance the social, economic, and environmental welfare of the residents and visitors of Penmaenmawr.
This is a new position within Penmaenmawr Town Council. Ideally, the Council is looking for someone with a range of outdoor skills to carry out ground maintenance, hedge and grass cutting, minor repairs, painting, and cleaning duties. The successful candidate will be capable of adapting to a developing role and undertake a range of activities to improve and take pride in the outdoor areas of our community. As part of the face of the Town Council, a friendly and professional manner will be expected. Applications are invited from applicants with a driving licence, a strong work ethic, excellent organisations skills and a ‘can-do’ attitude. Experience or qualifications in ground maintenance, gardening, painting or similar skills would be a distinct advantage.

The Penmaenmawr Town Council photographic competition is still open. Any photograph taken, in portrait format, from or of Penmaenmawr Council area are welcome. The winning photographs will be displayed at the Railway Station display boards.
The Town Council is delighted to announce that it will shortly assume overall administrative responsibility for the floral displays in the district and wishes to warmly welcome the help and support of the Pen in Bloom volunteers, who will be essential to the future success of the project.
The Town Council is pleased to announce that it has successfully secured Welsh Government grant money to purchase twelve public benches. These community benches will be initially located in three location adjacent commercial premises. However, as the Covid restrictions ease, they will be relocated, one to each of the towns parks and play areas.
To maintain the Victorian aesthetic look of the Station Road East area, Penmaenmawr Town Council, in conjunction with Conwy County Borough Council, are jointly funding the use of Victorian style heritage lighting columns as part of the lighting upgrade program.
Following a recent presentation Penmaenmawr Town Council intends to work with Penmaenmawr Against Single Use Plastic to reduce the volume of single use plastic being used in the area.

The Town Council is launching the Painted Pebbles Project, this project is a community project where we would like people to paint a stone which reflects 2020, the NHS, Covid-19, the Beach, Poppies, anything people feel represents 2020, some of these stones will then be set in a resin heart and this will be displayed in the town.

The Town Council have invested in freestanding hand sanitizers & large umbrellas and have distributed these to the local shops that regularly have queues, these are to give some protection to customers from the rain and encourage shopping local.
