Paddling Pool Update
Penmaenmawr Town Council have received an update from Conwy County Borough Council confirming that the paddling pool on the promenade will not reopen until next year.
Given that the work is not complete and, as the paddling pools usually close at the end of September, the news was expected.
CCBC have explained that delays in the work were beyond their control but they are committed to ensuring the long term future of these community assets. There has been major investment into the project and the loss of these facilities has been felt across Penmaenmawr by both residents and visitors.
Penmaenmawr Mayor Cllr Steven Consterdine said today “I am personally saddened by the events that have caused us to lose one of our most treasured assets this summer, I fully understand the anger and frustration that we will all be feeling about this news, however, I am pleased that CCBC have and continue to undertake much needed improvement works to ensure that our pools will be open next year and for many more years to come.”
Penmaenmawr Town Council will continue to monitor the progress of the works, to ensure that the County Council keeps to this latest promise and that the pools are ready to be reopened for next summer’s deadline.
